  4. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  5. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are required to
  6. register it, or purchase the licensed version as is the case of BJ-Sim.

  8. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and retail software, and the
  9. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as stated
  10. below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like retail
  11. authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are
  12. good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  13. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute
  14. the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group. For example,
  15. some authors require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may
  16. copy their Shareware.

  19. software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's retail or
  20. Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
  21. can try before you buy. And because the overhead is lower, prices are lower

  73. Installing BJ-Sim :
  74. -------------------

  76. Before you can use BJ-Sim you have to run the BJ-Sim setup program from
  77. Windows so it will work properly on your computer. You cannot just copy
  78. the files from the BJ-Sim disk to your hard disk.  The files on the
  79. distribution disk are packed in a special way to save space.  The setup
  80. program unpacks those files and builds them on your working disk.

  82.     1.  Make Windows' "Program Manager" the active window.
  83.  
  84.     2.  From Windows' "Program Manager", select "File", then
  85.         select "Run". This will open the "Run" dialog box.
  86.  
  87.         Place the BJ-Sim disk in your floppy drive.
  88.         Type in the dialog box the command that will run the BJ-Sim
  89.         setup program.
  90.  
  91.         If your floppy disk goes in your Drive "A", type:
  92.             A:SETUP
  93.         If your floppy disk goes in your Drive "B", type:
  94.             B:SETUP
  95.  
  96.         Leave the "Run Minimized" box un-selected, and click the
  97.         "OK" command button (or press "Enter").
  98.  
  99.     3.  After a brief moment you will be prompted by a dialog box
  100.         to enter the desired location for BJ-Sim.  This is
  101.         the location that you want your BJ-Sim files to be
  102.         placed.  It will suggest a drive and directory of "C:\BJ202".

  104.         If you want the BJ-Sim program files installed on a
  105.         different drive or directory, then type in the new destination.
  106.  
  107.     4.  BJ-Sim Setup will unpack the necessary files and
  108.         place them into your directory.  The status of the operation
  109.         will be displayed as the setup program does this work.

  112.     5.  The setup program will notify you when the installation is
  113.         complete.

  136. You may use the shareware version of BJ-Sim for a 30 day trial period.
  137. If you would like to continue to use BJ-Sim after the 30 day trial
  138. period, you are required to purchase the licensed version.

  141. a disk with the licensed version which includes card counting.
